Mental Health & Well-Being

As college students, it can be hard to prioritize your health, especially when you are pushed to prioritize academics, work, and extracurricular activities. Family members, professors and others often expect great things from you, and sometimes you expect even more of yourself. Be patient with yourself and the process of growing, changing and learning to live independently.

Self-Care

How you take care of yourself now determines your health in the future, which is why developing good self-care habits now is essential for your future self.

Programs & Services

Adulting

The Adulting series introduces students to life skills that aren't taught in the classroom. Learn how to "adult" as participants explore finances, healthy eating, purpose, professionalism, and other life skills proving you with the essential skills and knowledge to be a successful adult.

Fit to Thrive

Fit to Thrive is a 6-week series designed to teach students, faculty, and staff how to incorporate the dimensions of well-being into their daily lives so that they can flourish and be fulfilled. Learn more about the program and register here.

Mindfulness

Person meditation

Through mindfulness, you are able to be aware of where you are and what you are doing and not be overly reactive or overwhelmed by what is going on around us.

Pet Therapy

Pet therapy is a guided interaction between a person and a trained animal. Pet therapy helps individuals recover and cope with health concerns and daily stressors stemming from work, school, and/or relationships. You may have previously seen pets on campus during finals week.  However, since Georgia Tech students and employees experience stress and anxiety all year round, Health Initiatives is offering this program to you multiple times throughout the semester!
