Temporary Protective Order

If you or someone you know has been a victim of intimate partner violence, there are resources to help you file a Temporary Protective Order (TPO) to ensure your safety. The TPO must be filed through the county government where the perpetrator resides. The document below provides a brief outline of information you need to know when filing for a TPO. Please note this document is not comprehensive.

The Petitioner is the person filing the TPO, which is usually the victim or survivor, and the respondent is usually the perpetrator.

A VOICE Advocate can assist you in filing a TPO.
