Georgia Tech is proud to partner with EverFi to offer online education to first-year students, transfer students, graduate students, and staff and faculty. Please review the following information to ensure you are accessing the correct course. 

Do You Have A Registration Hold?

Undergraduate and Transfer Students: Registration Hold Information:

ALL incoming students at Georgia Tech (first-year and transfer students) are required to complete Parts 1 and 2 of AlcoholEdu and Haven: Understanding Sexual Assault.

  • Part 1 must be completed by August 11, 2017
  • Part 2 must be completed by October 8, 2017

If you have not completed Part 1, you will see one or both of the following codes on your account:

  • WA– indicates you have not completed Part 1 of AlcoholEdu
  • WH – indicates you have not completed Part 1 of Haven: Understanding Sexual Assault

To release your registration hold:

  1. Register and complete Part 1 of AlcoholEdu and/or Haven.
  2. Once completed, your hold will automatically be removed. Check the registration system in 30-45 minutes to verify the hold was lifted.
  3. Complete Part 2 of AlcoholEdu and Haven. You will receive access to Part 2 pbout 45 days after completing Part 1.

Graduate Students: Registration Hold Information

ALL incoming graduate students are required to complete Part 1 of Haven Plus Part 1 must be completed by October 11, 2017. You are not required to complete Part 2.

  • If you have not completed Part 1, you will see a WP code on your account.

To release your registration hold:

1. Register and complete Part 1 of Haven Plus.

2. Once completed, your hold will automatically be removed. Check the registration system in 30-45 minutes to verify the hold was lifted.

What if I completed one of these courses at a different institution? 
You must still complete these courses because each institute has different policies and resources in place. 
 
How long do these courses take?
- Part 1 of  each course will take about 1.5-2 hours to complete.
- Part 2 of AlcoholEdu, Haven and AlcoholEdu for Sanctions will each take about 30 minutes.
 
What happens if I have a registration hold?
- Registration holds are automatically removed within 7-60 minutes of completing the requirements.

First Year Undergraduate & Transfer Students

AlcoholEdu for college is designed to reduce the negative consequences of alcohol among students. Haven uses a population level approach to educate students on the issues associated with sexual assault and relationship violence. 

All first-year and transfer students who enrolled in the fall of 2017 must complete part 1 & 2 of both AlcoholEdu and Haven.

  1. Always sign in to the Georgia Tech's AlcoholEdu and Haven portal.
  2. Use your Georgia Tech email address to sign in.
  3. Complete part 1 of Haven and/or AlcoholEdu by August 11.
  4. After 45 days you will receive an invitation to complete part 2 of AlcoholEdu/Haven.
  5. Complete part 2 of Haven and AlcoholEdu by October 8. 
  6. Failure to finish the requirement will result in a hold on your registration. 

First Year Graduate Students

Haven Plus provides tailored sexual assault prevention training to post-baccalaureate students (e.g., graduate/professional). All graduate students enrolled in fall 2017 must complete part 1 of Haven Plus.  

  1. Always sign in at Georgia Tech's Haven Plus portal. 
  2. Deadline Part 1: October 11 (Part 2 is not required for Haven Plus) 
  3. Part 2 has been disabled for Georgia Tech and you will not receive a follow-up email. 

Mandated Students

AlcoholEdu for Sanctions is designed specifically to help students who have violated alcohol policies make safer and healthier choices - and avoid experiencing problems again. The course provides a strong educational foundation to support campus conduct programs and is an essential component of a comprehensive alcohol prevention initiative.

To fulfill Georgia Tech’s requirement:

  1. Always sign in at Georgia Tech's AlcoholEdu Sanctions portal.
  2. Use your Georgia Tech email address to sign in (e.g., student@gatech.edu).
  3. Complete Part 1 of AlcoholEdu for Sanctions.
  4. After 30 days you will receive an invitation to complete Part 2 of  AlcoholEdu for Sanctions.
  5. You can print out a completion report for your hearing officer. On the student dashboard, click the grey "Course Progress" button.  Based on the directions provided by your hearing officer, you can either save the report as a PDF and email or print the record.
  6. The feedback report may also be requested by your hearing officer. Go to the portfolio tab in the AlcoholEdu for Sanctions course to access your feedback report. Please follow the instructions provided by your hearing officer.

Employees

‚ÄčHaven for Faculty and Staff provides faculty and staff members with an interactive training program that includes scenarios and examples they may face around sexual assault, domestic violence, and sexual harassment.  This course contains content that is required by the amendments to the Clery Act included in the 2013 VAWA Reauthorization and other pertinent federal regulations.

  1. Always sign in at Georgia Tech's Haven for Faculty and Staff portal.
  2. Use your Georgia Tech email address to sign in (e.g., name@gatech.edu).
  3. Complete Part 1 (only part 1) of Haven for Faculty and Staff.
  4. Part 2 has been disabled for Georgia Tech and you will not receive a follow-up email.
