AlcoholEdu & Haven

Georgia Tech is proud to partner with EverFi to offer online education to first-year students, transfer students, graduate students, and staff and faculty. Please review the following information to ensure you are accessing the correct course. 

First Year Undergraduate & Transfer Students

AlcoholEdu for college is designed to reduce the negative consequences of alcohol among students. Haven uses a population level approach to educate students on the issues associated with sexual assault and relationship violence. 

All first-year and transfer students who enrolled in the spring of 2018 must complete part 1 & 2 of both AlcoholEdu and Haven.

  1. Always sign in to the Georgia Tech's AlcoholEdu and Haven portal.
  2. Use your Georgia Tech email address to sign in.
  3. Complete part 1 of Haven and/or AlcoholEdu by January 12.
  4. After 45 days you will receive an invitation to complete part 2 of AlcoholEdu/Haven.
  5. Complete part 2 of Haven and AlcoholEdu by March 9. 
  6. Failure to finish the requirement will result in a hold on your registration. 

First Year Graduate Students

Haven Plus provides tailored sexual assault prevention training to post-baccalaureate students (e.g., graduate/professional). All graduate students enrolled in spring 2018 must complete part 1 of Haven Plus.  

  1. Always sign in at Georgia Tech's Haven Plus portal. 
  2. Deadline Part 1: March 9 (Part 2 is not required for Haven Plus) 
  3. Part 2 has been disabled for Georgia Tech and you will not receive a follow-up email.

What if I completed one of these courses at a different institution? 
You must still complete these courses because each institute has different policies and resources in place. 
How long do these courses take?
- Part 1 of  each course will take about 1.5-2 hours to complete.
- Part 2 of AlcoholEdu, Haven and AlcoholEdu for Sanctions will each take about 30 minutes.
What happens if I have a registration hold?
- Registration holds are automatically removed within 7-60 minutes of completing the requirements. 
What if I have questions?

  • You will need Internet access and audio capabilities.
  • To avoid technical issues, please use any major web browser (e.g., Firefox, Internet Explorer, Google Chrome) released within the previous two years.
  • You may take the course in multiple sittings.
  • The course may include surveys to help personalize your experience and measure students’ attitudes and behaviors. All survey responses are confidential; Georgia Tech will only receive information about the student body as a whole and will never see individual students’ answers.

Mandated Students

AlcoholEdu for Sanctions is designed specifically to help students who have violated alcohol policies make safer and healthier choices - and avoid experiencing problems again. The course provides a strong educational foundation to support campus conduct programs and is an essential component of a comprehensive alcohol prevention initiative.

To fulfill Georgia Tech’s requirement:

  1. Always sign in at Georgia Tech's AlcoholEdu Sanctions portal.
  2. Use your Georgia Tech email address to sign in (e.g.,
  3. Complete Part 1 of AlcoholEdu for Sanctions.
  4. After 30 days you will receive an invitation to complete Part 2 of  AlcoholEdu for Sanctions.
  5. You can print out a completion report for your hearing officer. On the student dashboard, click the grey "Course Progress" button.  Based on the directions provided by your hearing officer, you can either save the report as a PDF and email or print the record.
  6. The feedback report may also be requested by your hearing officer. Go to the portfolio tab in the AlcoholEdu for Sanctions course to access your feedback report. Please follow the instructions provided by your hearing officer.


‚ÄčHaven for Faculty and Staff provides faculty and staff members with an interactive training program that includes scenarios and examples they may face around sexual assault, domestic violence, and sexual harassment.  This course contains content that is required by the amendments to the Clery Act included in the 2013 VAWA Reauthorization and other pertinent federal regulations.
